Yate Leisure Centre revamp complete
The third and final phase of a £1.8m redevelopment of the Yate Leisure Centre has been completed.
The work included the upgrading of the centre's poolside amenities. New dry and wetside changing rooms have been built and a new spinning studio has been added.
Previous phases saw the introduction of a new health and fitness suite, including 90 pieces of Technogym equipment, set in a purpose-designed area overlooking the swimming pool.
Work also included a new café, a customer services area, reception and a children’s softplay zone.
The centre is operated by South Gloucestershire Leisure Trust and is one of five facilities managed by the trust on behalf of South Gloucestershire Council.
The revamp of the centre was designed by Createability.
The revamp is part of a larger strategy to improve local services in the area. The council has invested £12m in a new health centre adjacent to Yate Leisure Centre, while Yate Library is currently undergoing a comprehensive refurbishment.
