Five products and services in the wellness industry have been named in the Wellness & spa innovation awards for 2016 this week at a ceremony in Dusseldorf, held during the Beauty Dusseldorf international trade show.

The competition – which is open to companies worldwide – is a project developed by the German Wellness Association and German Wellness Inc. It is designed to promote new ideas, products and services for the wellness and spa market.

Winners include the WellMassage4D from gharieni Group in the category of Beauty & Body Care Treatments; the steam bath D6 from klafs in the category of Hotel & Spa interior; Life Coaching at the Esplanade Resort & Spa in Bad Saarow, Germany, in the category of Hotel & Spa Concepts; and Team Dr. Joseph for Beauty & Body Care Products, as well as BasenSchauer in the category of ‘Audience Award.’

Gharieni’s WellMassage4D debuted late last year, and was created in conjunction with Tip Touch International. The treatment uses eight pre-programmed positions of Gharieni’s heated MLX table, providing a change from a flat bed and giving therapists better body mechanics to prevent repetitive stress injuries.

“Sammy and I are very excited about starting a new chapter in spa massage with a wellness experience that will take guests by surprise, enchant therapists by giving them a multidimensional approach to bodywork, and thrill spa managers and owners,” said Jean-Guy de Gabriac, president of Tip Touch International “WellMassage4D gives a unique sensorial proposition to properties which want to increase their footfall and the frequency of repeat visits.”

Klafs steam bath D6 is a modular system offering various options in size and layers, and is minimalistic in style. The model is available in several styles, including an all-white or all-black and a youthful, fresh look with ColourLine, which includes coloured walls.

The 3,500sq m (37,674sq ft) spa at the Esplanade Resort & Spa introduced Life Coaching as part of its wellness programming in conjunction with TV presenter Matthias Killing. The programme uses scientific questionnaires and tests to determine what areas of life clients need optimisation in.

Team Dr Joseph is an Italian-based skincare brand that makes high-tech natural cosmetics.
