£300,000 revamp for Letham Grange
Letham Grange Hotel, Golf and Country Estate near Arbroath, Scotland, is set to undergo a £300,000 refurbishment in a bid to modernise the resort's facilities.
The Victorian mansion house, which is located in 300 acres (121 hectares) of parkland, was converted into a golf resort in the early 1990s and boasts two 18-hole courses. Work will include the refurbishment of all 19 bedrooms located in the main building and the creation of the new Grange brasserie and bar, while the total number of bedrooms is set to be expanded from 30 to 40.
The project will also include investment in improvements to the drainage of both golf courses, as well as tree surgery and upgraded bunkers. Further investment is planned in early 2010 to introduce new grass-cutting equipment. Letham Grange's general manager, Jamie Le Friec, said: "We are in the middle of phase one of our refurbishment work, and exciting building development plans are under consideration at the moment which will concentrate on hotel and alternative leisure pursuits to broaden the country house, golf and leisure experience on the estate."
