£400k Blandford Forum revamp complete
A new 62.5sq m (672.7sq ft) fitness suite has been officially launched at a leisure centre in Blandford Forum, Dorset, following the completion of a £400,000 refurbishment.
Everyone Active - the consumer brand of Sports and Leisure Management (SLM) - led the scheme, which has taken six months to complete and involved the conversion of three squash courts. Precor has fitted the gym with its Experience range of cv and resistance machines, as well as Concept 2 rowers. The former galleried viewing area is now occupied by changing facilities.
North Dorset District Council and Blandford Forum Town Council, together with Blandford Leisure Centre Action Group, funded the refurbishment. Dorset County Council has also committed to providing £100,000 over the next three years towards the management of the leisure centre.
