£7.1m revamp for Paisley leisure centre
A leisure and swimming pool in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland, is to receive a £7.1m revamp.
Work on the council-operated Lagoon complex will include an expansion of the fitness suite, improvements to the changing room, and the installation of a climbing wall and skateboard park.
The council is currently applying for planning permission to build temporary buildings to house a fitness studio and multi-use area for when the work takes place.
Renfrewshire Council Leader Derek Mackay told Leisure Opportunities: "This planning application marks the latest stage of Renfrewshire Council's £92m Building Better Communities investment programme.
"In addition to new school buildings there will be extensive modernisation and creation of new community leisure and sports facilities across Renfrewshire. The Lagoon Leisure Centre is already well established as a premier leisure facility and this significant extension will enhance this facility and range of activities on offer."
Once underway, the work is expected to take around eight months.
