£1.2m Fifteen Cornwall to open on 20 May
The third branch of chef Jamie Oliver’s non-profit Fifteen restaurant franchise will open on 20 May, as planned, above the Extreme Sports Academy at Watergate Bay in Cornwall.
The £1.2m, 100-seat restaurant called Fifteen Cornwall will feature an Italian-influenced menu focusing on local produce, including fresh fish dishes, under the leadership of head chef Neil Haydock, formerly of Sandy Lane Hotel in Barbados.
Polly Dent from Rick Stein’s Padstow Seafood Restaurant will manage the establishment, which is owned by a charity called The Cornwall Foundation of Promise.
Fifteen Cornwall will provide an opportunity for local, young people to learn about the hospitality industry through onsite practical kitchen experience and training courses at Cornwall College.
All profits will go to The Cornwall Foundation of Promise to create further career opportunities for disadvantaged local youngsters. Details: www.fifteencornwall.com
