£1.5m cinema to reopen in Thurso?
Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) is to hold a public meeting tomorrow (15 June) to discuss plans for reopening a Thurso cinema which shut its doors in September 2009.
The £1.5m All Star Factory development first opened in October 2001 and included a 152-seat and an 88-seat cinema; a six-lane bowling alley and bar; and a games hall.
Rob Arthur of The Thurso Cinema Limited is looking to reopen the cinema, while building owner Gunn Developments is also willing to help with the venue's redevelopment.
HIE area manager Roy Kirk said: "The All Star Factory was an extremely important part of the community of Caithness and Sutherland, and it has left a real gap since its closure."
