Meaningful connection through shared moments is seen as key to the spa concept. In alignment with the ancient Greek cultural hospitality value called Greek philoxenia, which directly translates as “friend to a stranger.” This means the destination will be a place where visitors will be welcomed, fed and protected – thanks to the mythological belief that gods walked the earth in disguise and therefore all travellers are to be respected.
The spa also encourages guests to take Blue Zone-inspired lifestyle advice for living well by offering natural movement, mindful Fitness, Mediterranean cuisine and restorative rituals.
Stavros Mavridis, director of health and wellness for Eminence Hospitality, told Spa Business: “We're extremely honoured to be part of the transformation of Patmos Aktis, a member of Luxury Collection, to a concept that follows the Blue Zone way of life and connects the spirituality and culture of the island to the Guest experience.”
