£1m grant for Gyllyngdune Gardens and Princess Pavilion Theatre revamp
Carrick Leisure, the Falmouth, Cornwall-based leisure trust, has received a £936,000 grant from the Big Lottery, Parks for People funding stream towards the £2.3m refurbishment of the Gyllyngdune Gardens and Princess Pavilion Theatre.
The project includes the creation of a new visitor and education centre, café, bar, children's play area, glasshouse and improvements to the Edwardian Park which overlooks the sea.
Building work is set to commence in November this year and is scheduled to take 18 months to complete.
The grant also supports the employment of a visitor and education officer and full-time gardener based on site.
