£3.5m Chester park proposals to go on show
A public exhibition is to be launched by Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWCC) in a bid to allow residents to explore plans for a £3.5m revamp of Chester's Grosvenor Park.
Proposals, which aim to restore the park's original landscape and secure Green Flag status, will be put on display at Chester Library from 9 June as part of the consultation process. Grosvenor Park has already made it through the first stage of the application process for a Heritage Lottery Fund grant, with a detailed submission to be made in the autumn.
CWCC executive member for culture and recreation Stuart Parker said: "The original landscape of the park was designed by Edward Kemp and architect John Douglas designed the Park Lodge - a building which will be restored as part of the project. "If successful, this project will offer a wonderful opportunity to restore the park and we are committed to local people being involved in its restoration and long term management."
