Hyatt announces new hotels in India and Brazil
Hyatt has announced the opening of the Hyatt Regency Gurgaon in India this month as well as a joint venture in Brazil which aimes to develop nine Hyatt Place-branded hotels in the country.
The Hyatt Regency Gurgaon is situated in New Delhi's National Capital Region and claims to have the city's largest meeting space and room inventory.
Consisting of 451 rooms in a 16-storey building, the hotel has a spa and fitness centre and a swimming pool. The spa has three treatment suites and offers a variety of Western, Indian and Ayurvedic spa therapies.
Located at the ground level of the hotel, the convention space is spread over 40,000sq ft (3,716sq m) and includes the Regency ballroom, eight meeting rooms, a boardroom and a dedicated pre-function area for each venue.
Meanwhile, Hyatt's joint venture in Brazil is with South American investments group, FSA Group S.A. The plan is to invest US$270m (£174m, €204m) for the development of the hotels.
It is anticipated that the first of the nine new properties will open in 2016. The hotels, which will range from 150-200 rooms, will be located in urban, suburban and airport locations.
