New grandstand planned for Chasetown FC
Plans to build a £1m 500-seat grandstand at Chasetown Football Club in Burntwood, Staffordshire, have been submitted to Lichfield District Council.
Created by Field Building Design Partnership on behalf of the football club, the plans also include a sauna and small gym, office space, a club shop and a disabled spectators area. There will also be a 200-seat restaurant, directors' and sponsors' boxes, conference facilities, two bars, home and away changing facilities and a physiotherapy room.
The existing stands and clubhouse take up 684sq m (7,362sq ft) of the 2.6-hectare site (6.4-acre). The new stand, to be built on the stadium's western side, will measure 1,480sq m (15,930sq ft) and should increase the stadium's capacity to 3,100. The planning application was prepared by advisors CT Planning and a decision is expected by Feburary 2009.
