£5.1m Nottingham park restoration to begin
Demolition work is to commence at Nottingham's Forest Recreation Ground as part of a £5.1m restoration scheme to be undertaken by Nottingham City Council (NCC).
Funding secured in conjunction with the Partnership Council, Castle Cavendish Foundation and Friends of the Forest includes £3.2m from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
NCC portfolio holder for leisure, culture and customers David Trimble said: "This project involves conserving the historic elements of the park and upgrading the facilities which will revitalise the whole area.
"This project is crucial amongst other major green spaces projects which are underway to ensure that Nottingham's parks continue to attract visitors from the city and beyond."
