$1.3bn Disneyland-style theme park for Vietnam
The coastal town of Vung Tau in Vietnam could host a 200-hectare Disneyland-style theme park by 2010 if development plans get the go ahead.
The Vietnam Economic Times has reported that Good Choice Imports-Exports & Investment, an affiliate of US real estate and investment firm Platinum Dragon empire (PDE) has submitted an investment application for the US$1.3bn (AUS$1.5bn, £660m, 885m euro) Vung Tau Wonderful World Theme Park project.
It is also said that the scheme will include an 88-storey Landmark Tower and a ‘Wonder of the World’ site with replicas of the Eiffel Tower, Golden Gate Bridge and the Pyramids. There will also be a conference centre, shopping malls, hotels and restaurants, 3D cinemas and open air stages.
