£15m leisure centre to launch in Croydon
A new £15m leisure centre featuring two swimming pools is set to open in Croydon by the end of January.
Located on the Fiveways junction on Purley Way, the Waddon Leisure Centre has been funded by Croydon Council and forms part of the Propeller housing development project.
The centre will managed by Fusion Lifestyle and will include two fitness studios and a 65-station gym suitable for both able-bodied and disabled customers.
A sports hall featuring four badminton courts, a 25m pool, a teaching pool and a café will also be housed at the centre.
Cabinet member Phil Thomas, said: "This really is a brilliant new facility and is a fantastic showcase for the investment that we are currently putting into Croydon.
"It also shows how we are continuing to put residents and their health first, and I hope that many more people are encouraged to take up regular exercise as a result."
