16th National Sports Development Seminar
The 16th National Sports Development Seminar takes place on Tuesday 18 and Wednesday 19 April 2007 at East Midlands Conference Centre, Nottingham.
The seminar, the first under the ISPAL banner, will focus on how we bring intelligence, innovation and improvement to the people who find themselves part of the sport system: our customers, communities and, chiefly, ourselves.
Put together by sports development professionals for sports development professionals, the seminar will be, as ever, a unique opportunity for anyone working in sport and physical activity to network, gather information, learn and develop in three key areas:
• Intelligence - increasing our understanding of ourselves and of what’s really going on • Innovation - exploring brave approaches which may move us away from a reliance on ‘programmes’
• Improvement - satisfying corporate agendas while meeting targets and changing lives
The programme includes keynotes by speakers new to the seminar and from outside the sector; updates from governing bodies, national agencies and other key players; workshops from cutting edge practitioners; and opportunities to develop personal skills.
