Bookings are now being taken for the 2006 National Restaurateurs Dinner, the restaurant sector’s annual fundraising event part-organised by the Restaurant Association.

Now in its 19th year, the four-course, black-tie dinner will be held at The Dorchester on Monday 24 April and will feature a champagne reception hosted by GH Mumm, a prize draw and themed entertainment.

Individual tickets are priced at £145 + VAT per head. A table of 10 can be booked at £1,400 + VAT and tables for 12 guests are available at £1,680 + VAT.

The four course meal will be prepared and delivered by some of the industry’s finest representatives:

• John Williams – executive chef, The Ritz

• Nigel Haworth – head chef and joint managing director, Northcote Manor • John Campbell – executive chef, the Vineyard at Stockcross

• Martyn Nail – executive chef, Claridges • Henry Brosi – executive chef, The Dorchester

• Brian Turner CBE – chef patron, Brian Turner Mayfair • Benoit Blin – chef patissier, le Manoir

• Andre Garrett – head chef, Orrery • Jason McAuliffe – sommelier, the Dorchester Grill

• Gerard Basset – chef consultant • Matt Wilkin – sommelier, The Capital Restaurant

• Ronan Sayburn – executive head sommelier, Gordan Ramsay Holdings

The National Restaurateurs’ Dinner is part of a long-standing collaboration between the Academy of Culinary Arts, the Academy of Food and Wine and the Restaurant Association, aimed at raising money for education and training initiatives for the hospitality industry.

Brian Turner CBE, chair of the NRD Committee, said, “Over the years the dinner has grown from a restaurateurs’ get-together to a major gala dinner, which has generated in excess of half a million pounds towards these good causes.”

“However, the dinner is not just a fundraising occasion. It is the opportunity for people with common interests to meet and support the catering industry which plays such an important part in our culture.”

For further information or to request a booking form, please contact Pauline Jackson, commercial manager at the Restaurant Association on +44 (0)207 404 7744, or email [email protected]
