The American Society of Cinematographers (ACS) has confirmed that a US$6m (£3.7m, €4.1m) scheme to renovate its Los Angeles headquarters is due for completion by the end of the first quarter of 2010.

Work on the organisation's Hollywood clubhouse has included the creation of a further 1,500sq ft (139sq m) of floor space, which will house a museum dedicated to the history of cinematography incorporating antique cameras and film memorabilia. The existing boardroom has been enlarged to provide a seminar room and the bar area has been transformed into a lounge/café for members and associates. The library space will now provide a permanent boardroom/library facility.

Meanwhile, a one-storey administration building to the rear of the ASC Clubhouse has been replaced with a three-storey education and administration centre, which will house the society's publications and employees, as well as an ASC store. Construction work started in May 2008 on the new-look facility, which was designed by Culver City-based Wolcott Architecture Interiors and aims to modernise the 73-year-old property while retaining the heritage of the original structure.
