2012 Olympic Games schedule published
Cardiff's Millennium Stadium is to host the first event of the Olympic Games, according to the full sporting schedule revealed by London 2012 organisers.
Preliminary stages of the women's football competition will take place in the Welsh capital on 25 July - two days before the Opening Ceremony at London's Olympic Stadium. The full schedule - published by the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) - covers 19 days and more than 640 sessions.
LOCOG chair Sebastian Coe said: "The schedule showcases brilliant and exciting sport every single day, over 19 days, with 302 medals on offer." Details: tickets.london2012.com
