2012 Trust New Art programme launches
The National Trust (NT) and Arts Council England (ACE) are to bring contemporary art to a range of historic locations across the country through the 2012 Trust New Art scheme.
Trust New Art has been developed by the two organisations in order to inspire people of all ages to experience NT-operated sites through the eyes of new and established artists.
The programme first launched in 2009 and has reached in excess of 1 million people at more than 50 NT houses, gardens and landscapes. This year's initiative is to be the largest yet.
ACE director of visual arts Vivienne Bennett said: "One of the main aims of Trust New Art is to provide opportunities for both emerging and established artists to reach new audiences."
