20km walk launched in Omagh
A new 20km walking route has been launched in the Sperrins, Omagh, Northern Ireland.
Omagh and Strabane District Councils have jointly launched the new ‘Craignamaddy Circuit Walk’, which has been designated as a ‘Quality Medium Walk’ by The Countryside Access & Activities Network.
The chair of Strabane District Council, Michaela Boyle, said: “The Glenelly and the Owenkillew Valleys are generally recognised as two of the most beautiful valleys in the Sperrins.
"While the rights of way for this walk have been in existence for many years, the new signage and designation will ensure that more residents and visitors will be able to enjoy our spectacular countryside and the physical and mental benefits of walking and rambling.
It definitely provides everyone with an opportunity for a great day out and could even be walked in shorter sections – to suit your level of fitness”.
