365 and Chrysalis to create sports internet joint venture
Online sports service 365 Corporation has merged with Chrysalis' internet content business Rivals.net.
The new operation, called Newco, combines 365's digital sports content including Football365, Planet Rugby, Cricket365 and Planet-F1 with Rivals, which operates fan-driven sports websites. The new company will provide its three million merged users with access to a broad, fan-based sports network.
Martin Turner, CEO of 365, commented: 365 believes that the formation of Newco with Chrysalis represents the best opportunity to create Europe's leading sports internet business.
