£8m hotel refit begins in Glasgow
A new, luxury aparthotel in Elmbank Street, Glasgow, will open in May 2006.
The McKever Hotel Group – which owns 10 hotels and serviced apartments throughout Scotland – has begun work on an £8m refit of the Theatre Hotel to create the Glasgow City aparthotel, which will boast 53 hotel rooms, including two suites.
The bedrooms will range from a penthouse to townhouse bedrooms and one- or two- bedroom apartments.
The aparthotel will be located opposite McKever’s recently-launched City Serviced Apartments on Bath Street and, without a restaurant, will include a private residents’ bar on the ground floor, but no restaurant.
McKever is also at an advanced stage of talks with a global hotel chain to bring Glasgow City aparthotel under their banner before it launches in May. Details: www.mckeverhotels.com
