£8m revamp for Le Mauricia hotel
Beachcomber Hotels, the Mauritian hotel group, has announced that its Le Mauricia property in Grand Baie is to undergo an £8m revamp.
A second family village will be built on the hotel’s grounds, comprising 12 new family suites, while all of the accommodation in the main hotel will be refurbished.
Standard rooms on the ground floor of the hotel will also be converted into ‘superior’ rooms with larger bathrooms and private walled gardens.
The site was closed yesterday (23 April) and will remain so until 5 August while the renovation work goes on.
When the hotel reopens, it will boast 62 superior rooms, 138 standard rooms, two new honeymoon suites and 39 family suites.
Le Mauricia is one of eight hotels on Mauritius owned and operated by Beachcomber.
