£9m Montrose swimming pool project nears completion
Work on a £9m integrated sports centre and swimming pool development in Montrose is on course for completion this month (August) - on schedule and within budget.
It follows a visit of the site by Angus Council representatives on 27 July, with the swimming pool being added to the existing Montrose Sports Centre. It is due to open in October.
Facilities include a main 25m six-lane swimming pool, a viewing gallery and a studio pool. A health suite with sauna, steam room and relaxation area and a fitness suite will also feature.
Ogilvie Construction has now delivered more than 90 per cent of the project, with work still to be carried out including the installation of built-in furniture manufactured off site.
Angus Council spokesperson for leisure Jeanette Gaul said: "This will be a huge asset to Montrose and I hope that swimmers of all ages and levels of ability will enjoy visiting the pool."
