A festival for the Russian health and fitness industry
A new festival will take place in Gostiny Dvor this August to satisfy the growing interest in health and fitness in Russia.
Called the International Open Festival of Health and Fitness, the event will take place from 19 - 23 August with the support of the Russian State Sports Committee and the Olympic Committee. It will have ten key areas for visitors, which show organises RTE hope will be a mixture of health club operators and gym users with an interest in keeping fit and healthy.
The wellness and beauty salon area will be a display of the latest products and body care technologies. In the Oriental section, demonstrations of martial arts and Oriental yoga will take place. Fitness clubs and operators will be presenting in the fitness and aerobics area and in the golf hub, golf club instructors will be showing golf equipment and accessories as well as sharing tips and information with golf fans.
A six-metre tall rock wall will give visitors the chance to test their ability at rock climbing, and Russia's most experienced skating and biking fanatics will be showing off their artistic skating and bike stunts. A children's fitness ground will also be on site for younger visitors.
A spokesperson from RTE says:
' The concept of the festival is entirely new. It gives the opportunity for the public as well as the specialists to get acquainted with the sports and leisure opportunities offered by various centers, clubs and organisations and try the newest novelties in fitness and wellness.'
