ACL gets residents walking
Anglia Community Leisure (ACL) has launched a series of health walks for local residents.
Free to take part in, there will be walks at different levels, from beginner to advanced.
Taking place throughout August, walks will start from various of the trust's leisure centres and are being funded by ACL along with partners including Forest Heath District Council; Sport England, through the local West Anglia Sports Partnership; and Suffolk Sport through the Active Wellbeing Programme.
Leisa Bright, Health Walks Co-ordinator, said: "We want as many people as possible to come along and take part, no matter what their ability. We are a friendly bunch and will make everyone welcome and a trained walks leader will be at the front and back of every group so no one will get left behind."
Tony Bass, chief executive of Anglia Community Leisure, added: "Regular walking is a great free way to stay fit and healthy. It strengthens your bones and may help to reduce your blood pressure as well as reducing the risk of strokes or heart disease. Anyone can do it with us and the more the merrier."
