AEG Facilities secures Moscow contract
AEG Facilities has secured a multi-year agreement to provide venue services at the proposed new VTB Arena Park sports and entertainment development in the heart of Moscow, Russia.
The deal will see AEG Facilities make its debut in Moscow and is effective immediately, with the group to provide venue design input and the development of quality operating standards. Due to open in 2016, VTB Arena Park will include a 45,000-seat stadium - home to Dynamo Moscow FC and a host venue for the 2018 World Cup - and a 12,000-seat arena.
Last year, it was revealed that Netherlands-based architect Erick van Egeraat had secured the commission for the VTB Arena Park, with a cultural hub and restaurants also planned. AEG Facilities chief operating officer Bob Newman said: "This development will be the first of its kind in the region, and we see great potential and opportunity for success in Moscow's dynamic marketplace."
