AIM to co-sponsor Robert Logan Award
The British Association of Friends of Museums (BAFM) has announced that the Association of Independent Museums (AIM) is to co-sponsor this year's Robert Logan Award.
The award, for young people working in the UK heritage sector, will be officially launched for 2007 in October and is open to all young people working in the heritage sector aged 30 or under, professional or volunteer.
The award has been designed to encourage the ‘development of a future generation of museum leaders’ and is named in honour of an ex-chair of the BAFM.
Entrants are asked to submit the outline of a paper on the subject of Past, Present and Future by 1 April 2007, using the form available from both the BAFM and AIM websites.
AIM chair Bill Ferris said: “We believe this award has done a great deal to encourage young people who are starting out in the museum world, and to raise awareness of their contribution in a wide variety of roles.
“We feel that, by co-sponsoring the award, we can help raise its profile, so enabling more young people to have the opportunity to participate in the scheme.”
This year’s award will be judged by the director of the Museums Association, Mark Taylor. Details: www.bafm.org.uk or www.aim-museums.co.uk
