AS Roma nets deal with Disney sports complex
AS Roma, one of the most prominent Italian football clubs, has signed a strategic agreement with ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, US.
The deal will see the club take European professional football to youth athletes at the venue, while AS Roma will also train at the facility during the Serie A (Italy's top division) winter break.
It is also hoped the six-year, "multi-faceted" agreement will enable AS Roma to expand its US fanbase by integrating it into the American youth soccer market.
AS Roma chief executive officer Mark Pannes said: "The agreement aligns us with one of, if not the, most recognizable and respected brands in the world.
"It is a priority of our new US-based ownership group to form strong partnerships with world-renowned brands that provide growth opportunities in the US and around the globe."
