Absolut opens its latest lceBar site
Absolut vodka has opened its latest IceBar in London on Heddon Street within the food quarter area of Regent Street.
The bar is similar in concept to Sweden’s world-famous IceHotel, which is built from scratch each autumn using newly-formed ice before melting the following spring.
The first IceBar opened in 1994 within the IceHotel as a collaboration between the vodka brand and the hotel.
The first city to boast a standalone Absolut IceBar was Stockholm in 2002, followed by Milan in autumn 2004 at Town House 12. Other bar sites have included the desert in Niger, and Singapore.
Each IceBar has to constantly maintain an environment of -5?C while guests can only stay within the bar for a maximum of 45 minutes.
The ice used to construct each bar is sourced from Sweden’s Torne river as its high speed flow during the freezing process creates crystal clear ice. Details: www.absolut.com
