Accor to manage 23 new UK hotels
Accor has signed a management contract with Moorfield Real Estate Fund for 23 hotels in the UK.
The properties will fall under the French firm’s Mercure brand, of which it already has two in the country – the Mercure London City Bankside and the Mercure Brigstow Bristol – on top of its 95 hotels under other brands.
Accor’s chief executive officer, Gilles Pélisson, said: “As a springboard for Mercure’s development in the UK, the 23 new hotels will support the chain’s commitment to delivering comfortable lodging, a warm welcome, and the outstanding hospitality that has made the brand’s reputation in 49 countries.”
The new sites include the Castle Hotel in Windsor, Queen’s Hotel in Cheltenham, St Paul’s Hotel in Sheffield and The Shakespeare Hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon.
Accor also recently opened its 300th hotel in Asia-Pacific region, the Grand Mercure Xidan Beijing in China.
