African-theme club to open in Camden
A £5.5m, 740-capacity African-themed restaurant/nightclub is to open in Camden Stables Market, London, in the spring.
Shaka Zulu is a joint venture between the market itself and London club owner Roger Payne, who already operates The Cuban (also located in the market) and Sound in Leicester Square.
The club will feature a 340-capacity mezzanine floor and a 400-capacity ground floor and will serve as both a nightclub and restaurant, serving African food.
It will be located beneath the existing Gilgamesh restaurant and the £2m worth of interior decoration will depict 19th century Zulu culture, including a 45ft bronze statue of King Shaka himself.
Shaka Zulu is to open in May.
