Allan brings fish! kitchen to Kingston
Tony Allan, founder of fish! in London’s Borough Market, is set to open a second site in October, next door to Jarvis Fishmonger in Kingston, following a £150,000 investment.
The fishmonger’s is currently run by Allan’s mother, Irene, who will also oversee the new fish! kitchen.
Designed by Paul Daly, fish! kitchen will be a fish and chip restaurant, offering either takeaway, or eat-in dishes for 30 covers on green leather banquettes.
The restaurant will also prepare any fish purchased from Jarvis Fishmonger. Tony Allen said he believes there is room for huge growth within the fish and chips sector – he intends to open a further three sites in London towards the beginning of 2006.
He has also unveiled plans to offer a delivery service from fish! kitchen via liveried motorbikes.
The original fish! restaurant chain collapsed in 2002 after a rapid expansion, Allan then bought seven sites back from the receivers intending to relaunch the concept in a new form. Details: www.fishkitchen.com
