Almond Valley named as Scottish Museum of the Year
Almond Valley Heritage Centre has been named Scottish Museum of the Year 2002.
Recent developments recognised were a new fossil section, a laboratory area for children, improved interpretation for the shale oil industry, a new museum store, a picnic barn for groups and a new entrance hall and shop.
Lady Balfour of Burleigh, chair of the Scottish Museum of the Year Awards, said the centre was 'an enjoyable space of discovery and learning managed by a team of warm and friendly staff.' Details:www.almondvalley.co.uk
