Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has opened the first two Aloft-branded properties in India.

The two properties - Aloft Chennai OMR-IT Expressway in Chennai and Aloft Bengaluru Whitefield in Bangalore - are owned by Urbanedge Hotels, a special purpose vehicle of Auromatrix Hotels Private Limited which plans to set up further Aloft hotels in the country over the next few years. Aloft Chennai OMR-IT Expressway features 130 loft-like rooms and is adjacent to more than 5,000sq ft (465sq m) of meeting space and a restaurant.

Aloft Bengaluru Whitefield offers 170 rooms, access to a large restaurant and more than 8,500sq ft (790sq m) of meeting space.
