To celebrate 'National Sleep-in Day' on Sunday 28 October - the day the clocks go back to mark the beginning of winter in the UK - Apex Waterloo Place Hotel in Edinburgh has created the 'Do Not Disturb' package.

Designed to help guests make the most of their lie-in, the 'Do Not Disturb' package will see guests undergoing a voluntary digital detox, by swapping their tech for books or magazines at reception.

On arrival guests will be greeted with a hot drink, while a bath is drawn for them and their luggage is taken to their room, where a package of luxury treats, including: robes, slippers and Elemis toiletries, will be waiting for them in-room.

Guests will be served breakfast in bed the following morning, to ensure that they make the most of their extra hour in bed.

Angela Vickers, CEO of Apex Hotels, said: "We've created the 'Do Not Disturb' package so that guests can experience our signature warmer welcome to the full and enjoy the ultimate relaxing stay with the chance to switch off entirely."

Sleep advisor and expert Lisa Artis of the Sleep Council, said: "National Sleep In Day is the only time when we can indulge in an extra hour in bed without any of the guilt. Whether you use it for sleeping or just resting, it's extremely beneficial for mind and body."

"The digital detox is a great idea as it takes away any temptation to check social media, watch videos or be consumed with work emails. There is no denying we live in a very connected world but it's really important that we give ourselves time to recharge our batteries and switch off from the outside world," she added.

The package will be available for guests booking two night stays between October 26 and 29.
