Aquamark accreditation for Stourport
Stourport Sports Centre in Stourport, Worcestershire, has been re-awarded Aquamark Premier Status thanks to its high-quality programme of swimming lessons.
Swim Academy is the branded swimming programme of DC Leisure, which manages Stourport Sports Centre on behalf of Wyre Forest District Council.
The programme was launched in Stourport in 2003 and currently has 500 students.
“The centre is a role model for the industry in its delivery of swimming lessons,” said Aquamark assessor Anne Craddock in the recent re-assessment report.
Aquamark was introduced by the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) to help providers of swimming programmes develop and enhance the service offered and, ultimately, improve the level of swimming ability in the UK.
Covering areas such as programme operation, staffing, customer relations, policy and strategy, Aquamark provides a recognised benchmark for the industry, as well as an incentive for organisations to maintain standards.
