Aquarium for CN Tower?
Ripley Entertainment’s plans to build an aquarium at its Great Wolf Lodge site at Niagara Falls have reportedly fallen through, however new plans are afoot for an aquarium in Toronto.
The Niagara Falls Review said that Ripley’s new plans to build an aquarium at the base of the CN Tower in the Canadian city indicate that the plans for Great Wolf Lodge - which were shelved in 2007 - have finally been dropped.
However, a Ripley’s spokesperson said that the Niagara Falls were still simply “on hold”.
As for the CN Tower project, in 2008 the Canada Lands Company - which owns the tower - held a competition to determine who would develop an aquarium, which Ripley’s won.
Plans are now being put into place. Construction could start next year and take two years to complete if Ripley’s and the Canada Lands Company decide to pursue the scheme.
