Arcade operator enters administration
Gamegrid, the Bournemouth-based operator of 14 amusement arcades at sites across the UK and France, has been placed in administration.
Sue Staunton and Sandra Mundy of the Thames Valley-based accountants, James Cowper, have been appointed to oversee the management of the company. Gamegrid currently employs 40 people and operates arcades at sites such as Newcastle and Glasgow Prestwick airports, as well as a number of motorway service stations and Eurotunnel.
Staunton said: "We have managed to sell three sites already at Gatwick Airport, Leeds Bradford Airport and Birmingham Airport and will be trying to find possible buyers for the other sites over the next week or so." Other arcade locations operated by Gamegrid include Bristol International Airport and Edinburgh Airport.
