Arena in talks for casino at racetrack
Racecourse operator, Arena Leisure is planning to build at casino at its Wolverhampton track.
Group managing director, Ian Penrose, said the company was in advanced negiotiations with a number of casino operators to develop a casino at Wolverhampton, which it expected to be operating by early 2004.
The news came as the company announced half year losses of £4.5m from £3.2m. The company said its attheraces digital television channel which was launched on Sky in May had established strong audience figures, with the peek weekly audience in July reaching 774,000, a 10 per cent increase on figures in June.
