Armathwaite Hall enters final stage
The Armathwaite Hall Hotel, located on the bank of Bassenthwaite Lake in the Lake District, is to gain a new £5m (6.3m euro, US$8.8m) spa, which will open early in 2009.
The spa concept and interiors have been designed by Douglas Wallace Designers, who have worked with consultancy Gill Haines Spa Operations.
The spa will have nine first floor treatment rooms and tranquility room. The ground floor will provide a 50ft (16m) infinity-edged swimming pool, floor-to-ceiling waterfall and a heat experience, plus a gym.
The two-floor building is being constructed from local stone, slate and natural green timber to create a building sympathetic to its natural setting. DETAILS: armathwaite-hall.com
