Arsenal confirms Ashburton plans
Arsenal FC directors, Ken Friar and Danny Fiszman, have insisted that plans to move to a new stadium at Ashburton Grove are still on.
There has been increasing uncertainty about the proposal, which would see Arsenal in the new stadium for the 2006 season.'We are totally and utterly committed to Ashburton Grove,' the directors said. The move is seen as a necessary one as existing ground, Highbury, with a capacity of 38,000, is deemed to not have sufficient revenue generating potential, with rivals Manchester United and Newcastle able to accomodate nearly twice as many spectators.
