Arts centre gets underway
Work has started on the conversion of a former church building into a multi-purpose arts centre in Peebles, Scotland.
The £2m centre comprises a 250-seat auditorium, a rehearsal room and exhibition space, a café, bar and offices.
The project is being developed by the Borders 1996 company and has received funding from both the Arts Council and private sector. The arts centre, designed by architects Richard Murphy, is due to open in 2003. Details: +44 (0)131 220 6125
