Ashford International Hotel to get £5m revamp
Leeds-based hotel operator QHotels is to spend £5m upgrading the Ashford International Hotel in Kent, which it recently acquired for £13m from an independent owner.
The hotel, set in eight acres of land, will undergo a refurbishment of all 177 rooms, corridors, reception and boulevard areas, as well as introducing air conditioning to all rooms, restaurants and offices. The conference, banqueting and meeting areas will also be redecorated.
Michael Purthill, managing director of QHotels, said: “Ashford International is a fantastic property which perfectly suits our vision when looking for hotels to invest in.
“We strongly believe in investing in both the property and the people and are very much committed to helping the hotel achieve its full potential.”
Work on the 12-month refurbishment programme is due to start in October this year. Details: www.qhotels.co.uk
