Ashmolean branch for Worcestershire village?
Worcestershire County Council (WCC) has pledged £200,000 to support a project that will bring Oxford's world-renowned Ashmolean Museum to the village of Broadway.
A one-off capital contribution towards the plans has been recommended by WCC's cabinet, with a 17th century High Street property to be converted into the museum.
The total cost of the project is around £302,000, with the remaining funding to be raised by an Ashmolean steering group. The museum is also offering staff time to establish the venue.
It is hoped Broadway's new Ashmolean Museum will open later this year.
