Attractions industry shaken by theme park death
Lightwater Valley Theme Park closed yesterday in the wake of a tragic accident which resulted in the death of a 20-year-old woman and injuries to three men. The incident happened on the Treetop Twister ride on 20 June at 1.45pm. Two cars collided, with one going into the back of another. The park was closed yesterday for a full Health and Safety investigation yesterday and as a mark of respect. The ride will remain closed until the report is concluded and the recommendations have been made. There is a possibility that the park might have to face prosecution for corporate manslaughter.
