Australia Zoo names 15 November as Steve Irwin Day
Australia Zoo, the park founded by Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin, has announced that 15 November has been chosen as the day the iconic Australian star, who died on 4 September 2006, will be remembered.
In a statement, Australia Zoo said that Steve Irwin Day has been created to represent the things Irwin was passionate about, including ‘family, wildlife and fun’. There will also be a focus on raising funds for Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors Worldwide.
Fans are invited to get involved through visiting Australia Zoo, having a Backyard Campout or pulling on one of Irwin’s trademark khaki shirts for Khaki Day. Details: www.steveirwinday.org or www.australiazoo.com.au
