Wave Leisure Trust were delighted to be able to collect an award from SPARK Network on behalf of the Newhaven Integrated Summer Holiday Programme for 2012.

Manager of Shakespeare Hall, Neil Cameron, was joined by representatives from NCDA and Newhaven Town Council to collect the award at the Winter Garden in Eastbourne.

Holly Baker-Cliff, Awards Co-ordinator for SPARK Network said: "Wave Leisure's Newhaven Integrated Summer Holiday Programme were worthy winners of the Junior Health & Wellbeing Achievement Award. They provided free/low cost activities encouraging play, physical activity and health and wellbeing. One of the things that really impressed the judges was how Wave Leisure's joined up approach of bringing together many different providers from across the town helped to cater for everyone with over 2300 visits being made."

Peter Crowley, Managing Director of Wave Leisure Trust said: "Working in partnership to develop the integrated programme for the young people of Newhaven has proved a great success over the last 2 years. This award pays tribute to the contribution made by everyone to ensure that sufficient provision is made for young people."

2013 will see the project enter its third year in providing a wide range of free or low cost activities for young people in Newhaven over the period of the summer holidays. The programme partners for 2013 have increased and are therefore able to offer more choice to the young people of Newhaven and the surrounding area.

The programme will operate across the school holidays and will be available to download from the Wave Leisure website in June.
