BA signs deal with Swiss
British Airways (BA) and Swiss International Airlines (Swiss) have announced a plan for joint operations between the UK and Switzerland, with codesharing on London Heathrow Swiss routes taking effect from 26 October.
The Swiss frequent flyer scheme will be integrated into the BA Executive Club, miles already earned with Swiss retaining their current validity.
In addition, BA will enter into a slot exchange agreement for eight Heathrow daily slot pairs from Swiss. Swiss will also enter the oneworld alliance, of which BA is a founder member.
Rod Eddington, BA chief executive, said he was "delighted to welcome Swiss into the oneworld alliance" and that the deal would benefit both BA and the new Swiss. Details: www.britishairways.com
